The board has approved the changes to the guild bylaws and standing rules. Here are the highlights.
• Years of service have changed from 3 to 4 years of service. This is because for the treasurer it takes almost 2 years to get acquainted with the position to have only one year of easy confident service before the next treasurer is voted in. This is not a difficult position, just more to learn than other positions.
• Also acknowledging anyone may step down from their position after one committed year.
• The Education and Newsletter positions were removed as board positions. This is due in part to the low number of members volunteering for board positions. These will be committee positions.
• The immediate past president was also removed from the board but is still very much valued for her insight and is considered a valuable consultant for the board.
• The dissolution article was completely re-written so that in the event we have to dissolve this guild, money and assets will go to another 501(c)(3) organization and not the government.
Reminder the above are only highlights. Other changes were made and reviewing them is important.
The standing rules up until now has been a random list of guidelines or rules that did not necessarily need to be in the bylaws but still need to be listed and followed. So, the random list of rules is now somewhat better organized and set up for any future changes.
I'm attaching standing rules so we can get them approved on Monday.
I'm attaching the standing rules that were viewed by the board last November. I have made the additional changes so hopefully you can vote on them on Monday.
I am attaching the current bylaws with the last updates. You will be voting on them at the next board meeting.
see you all next Monday.
I am sending you a copy of the updated by-laws for you to review before our first board meeting. I am also including the standing rules, which we are not going to vote on just yet. Some of the changes to the bylaws were moved to standing rules so they don't get lost. Because any changes to the by laws have to be sent to the government, in the future the standing rules will be the document that is changed instead of the bylaws.
please click the reply to button with in the email letter and your correspondence will be directly with me if you have any questions or suggestions.
I have attached the purposed payment options for hosting our website to be reviewed by the board.
this is sent to president and treasurer
